The Orlando electronics recycling group says that the state of Florida does not have a specific plan in place to recycle computers.

The group offers online recycling tips, so that everyone can take responsibility for their own recycling. Recycle with Ecycle Florida, for example, accepts different types of batteries, including those that come with a short or long life, in a variety of sizes, so that they can be reused for other items.
The Orlando electronic recyclers take all types of batteries, including those that work on cell phones and laptops. They also check for any special batteries or components for an organization like the Environmental Protection Agency, so that these can be donated to a charity instead of heading into landfills. The program also works in conjunction with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and works to educate and get people involved with the state’s efforts to protect the environment.
